Former Secretary-Treasurer Ken Hester passes away July 11, 2012.

Teamsters Local 743 is saddened to report that former Secretary-Treasurer Kenneth Hester passed away on Wednesday, July 11.

Hester served as a prominent member of the Local 743 Executive Board during the 1980s and 90s. He was an active business agent, organizer, representative and champion of workers’ rights.

“Ken Hester wasn’t just a union officer—he was a fighter for working families and one of the real reasons Local 743 stands today as one of the strongest local unions in the nation,” said Donnie Von Moore, President of Local 743. “He will be missed by all who knew him and remembered by all who admired him. Our thoughts today are with the Hester family and his loved ones.”

Hester also served as the past President of the Local 743 Credit Union. The local will provide additional details on funeral arrangements or services as they become available.
